Roseanne Lynch’s Master of Arts (by research) from CIT/Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork, Ireland (2010) placed her practice within phenomenological discourse concerning the corporal presence of looking, and the real and implied space within a photographic representation; in which the viewer’s awareness of their own presence becomes an inherent element of the work.
Solo exhibitions include Leipzig, Germany, Whitney Modern, California, Cork, Dublin and The Netherlands. Group shows include Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, Como, Italy, Milan and China.
Recent residencies include The Bauhaus Foundation, Dessau, Germany (2018), The Camargo Foundation, Cassis, France (2015), Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris (2014) and a 3-year artist residency at CCAE (2013 -2016). She received the inaugural Alliance Francaise Photography Laureate award in 2011.
