What to Expect
Learn how to bind your own photobooks with Matt Dunne from Tall Poppy Press. In this workshop, Matt will lead you through three basic bookbinding techniques: concertina, saddle stitch and stab binding.
Participants will also learn how these binding techniques can be combined with covers and other book construction techniques to bind in various ways (for example, saddle stitch to dos-à-dos or stab binding).
Materials provided. Suitable for participants with no previous book binding experience.
This workshop has a capacity of 10 students.

About Your Teacher
Matt Dunne is an artist and publisher based in Melbourne. With an extensive background in book making, Matt has studied binding with Erika Mordek at the London Centre for Book Arts, as well as produced and sold several artist books. He has also had his work published as a monograph by an international publisher, VOID. The book was subsequently featured in the Washington Post, Black and White Magazine, Polka Magazine and the Guardian. In 2021, he started Tall Poppy Press, a Melbourne-based publishing company that publishes Australian photographer’s books, Tall Poppy has published 5 books so far. He bring s over a decade’s worth of experience teaching to workshops and enjoys creating conversational, explorative places to learn.
