Ephemerality

John Umina

Ephemerality explores a fading Australian era and contemplates the nation’s evolving identity. Through landscapes and familiar places, viewers are invited to ponder the delicate balance between human influence and the environment, the sublime beauty of our inland country, and the impacts of modernity. The exhibition aims to foster a deeper appreciation for Australia’s unique heritage, spark conversations on cultural preservation, and evoke reflection. Join this visual journey celebrating the past, questioning the present, and embracing the potential icons of the future.

Biography
I’m a photographer based in Central Victoria and creative partner at Blue Hour Photo Lab. My obsession is surfacing stories from objects and environments that may only exist in my flawed memory. This is my third exhibition, which aims to capture the essence of a bygone time while contemplating the nation’s evolving identity. My work is held in private collections.
