Antarctica: A Frozen Moment in a Timeless Land

Janet Copland

I worked with the Australian Conservation Foundation in 1989 and with Antarctic Action Group. I helped them to win a campaign to save Antarctica from mining minerals and oil. I went to the Antarctic in December 2014. These are my photos.

The last wilderness, a place of unique and intrinsic values that gives solace to mankind.

To bring art and science together. One feels so tiny and small against huge icebergs, how can anyone feel superior, we humans are animals and are connected for survival to nature and the animals within it.

Antarctic Magazine December 2018 Nick Gales – Director Antarctic Division

” We now know that Antarctica and the Southern Ocean drive much of our global climate and weather ”.
