An Australian artist based in Normandy, Ruszczynski has been capturing the beauty of everyday life through photography for over three decades. Her series of self-portraits Solar Tetes have gradually taken on mechanical attributes over time. These solarised photograms are intended a warning that we are living in a ‘technocracy,’ a technological age where identities are becoming digitised and homogenised. Ruszczynski notes that Nature has been neglected at best, and decimated at worst, but is not too late for reconnection and rehabilitation.
