This series of images is the result of an unexpected dash to Vancouver Hospital (Canada) after my stepson sustained life threatening injuries from an accident. While waiting for Tom’s recovery, I explored stress, grief, uncertainty, and finally hope in the expression of photography. The damp grey weather of the city really enhanced these emotions, and as Tom’s recovery progressed so too did the weather improve. This series of images is an example of how the therapeutic quality of photography can be an expression of mood that directly affects the images.

Biography
Rob has had a lifelong passion for photography. Studying for an Advanced Diploma at Photography Studies College Melbourne, his subjects consist of urban environment, architecture, and street photography. Rob’s style blends the strong geometric form of city scapes with non-linear abstractive images creating a unique and distinctive style.
