Lesley’s exhibition draws from the Japanese aesthetic of Wabi Sabi, embracing the imperfection and fleeting nature of the natural world. Using locally gathered flowers, predominantly unassuming and humble, the still life images showcase beauty in the ordinary. By the use of technical elements such as asymmetry and irregularity the hidden beauty and magic that resides within the ordinary and seemingly unremarkable is revealed.
