Random Rhythm.2: A Decade of Matchmaking

Gabrielle Hingston

Random Rhythm.2: A Decade of Matchmaking is a collection of photographs taken on 35mm film across Australia and abroad between 2013 and 2023. This is an archive to exhibition exercise and is part of an on-going project of photographing offbeat moments then matchmaking the images into random rhythm order over time.

It’s colour first, black & white second. Saturation always. Patterns & reflections. Two of a kind. Colour coordination. Personal muses & strangers. Buildings & bush. Pedestrians & empty streets. Concrete & clouds. Society & homelife. Humour & beauty. Got it?

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Wadawurrung People and recognises their continuing connection to the land and waterways. Always Was, Always Will Be, Aboriginal Land.
