Japan’s winter landscape is far removed from Australia. Siberian winds traverse the Sea of Japan creating a “wind of white flowers” (kazahana). This absence of humanity is an illusion; life has merely turned inwards. The mundane becomes beautiful.
Much of my work focuses on the environment we live in and how it shapes us. Our dwellings and public buildings mirror society’s norms and aspirations. These spaces influence and reflect how we see the world around us.
