High Exposure

Annelìse Seréna Belladonna (AUS), Max Deutscher (AUS), Jett Leduc (AUS) / Curated by Christine McFetridge and Philippa Griffin

Step beyond the gallery and into the streets to experience High Exposure. Featuring photographic artworks produced by emerging Ballarat-based artists in response to the 2025 Ballarat International Foto Biennale theme, Lifeforce, this curated outdoor exhibition spans the city’s laneways and heritage walls.

Wadawurrung photographer Max Deutscher’s digital collages explore his connection to Country amidst the ‘frantic pulse of modern life’; Bibbulmun and Chilean artist Annelìse Seréna Belladonna evokes a surreal inner-world inspired by the symbolism of her namesake: the deadly nightshade; and, influenced by feminist frameworks, Australian photographer Jett Leduc considers the relationship between camera, subject and emotion in her images.

Together, the works examine the complex and layered intersection of identity and place.
