Foto Walk: Mindful Meandering

Mama Jane

Waitlist only, email education@ballaratfoto.org to book your spot.

A Foto Walk is more than taking pictures—it is a practice in mindfully paying attention. Join Adelaide-based creative photographer Jane Marr—also known as Mama Jane—for a gentle, inclusive stroll through Ballarat’s streets and hidden corners of the city, where you’ll learn to see the extraordinary in the everyday.

Designed to encourage mindfulness and gratitude, this foto walk is as much about wellbeing as it is about image-making. Whether you’re using your phone or a camera, experienced or new to photography, Mama Jane will guide you in slowing down, noticing light and texture, and how to connect with your surroundings.

Along the way, you’ll be invited to share what you see and reflect on how photography can be a tool for self-expression. This is an accessible activity suitable for all ages, and beginners and experienced photographers alike.

This foto walk will begin and end at the Ballarat Mining Exchange, 12 Lydiard Street North. It is an accessible activity suitable for beginners and experienced photographers alike.

Please note: this event is subject to minimum enrollment.
