Acknowledgement of Country

Ballarat International Foto Biennale acknowledges the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, work and create. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and honour the deep traditions of storytelling, culture and connection held by First Nations peoples across Australia.

As the curtain closes on the 11th Ballarat International Foto Biennale, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this year’s festival such an inspiring celebration of photography and community.

To the incredible artists who shared their vision and creativity — thank you for bringing stories of Lifeforce to life across galleries, laneways and unexpected spaces. To the thousands of visitors who filled Ballarat with energy and curiosity, we’re grateful for your enthusiasm and support.

Our sincere thanks also go to our wonderful partners, sponsors and donors, whose generosity and belief in the power of photography make this festival possible. And to our volunteers, venues and local businesses — your contribution and spirit are the lifeblood of the Biennale.
