ABOUT OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
As a not-for-profit organization BIFB requires the assistance of many different volunteers with a range of experience and skill sets. Past volunteers will tell you that being a member of the festival crew is a rewarding experience providing you with the opportunity to not only develop new skills, but meet many people like you – who love photography. You will not only be making an important contribution to arts and culture locally, but you will also be advancing the promotion of contemporary Australian photography on the world stage.

You can assist us as a volunteer during the festival in the following ways:

SUPPORT FOR VOLUNTEERS
We are keen to make the experience for both volunteer and visitor to our festival as enjoyable as possible. As a volunteer you are not paid for your services, but we strive to support volunteers in a number of other ways. These include holding ‘induction sessions’ in both Ballarat and Melbourne prior to the festival during which each volunteer is issued with a Volunteer Handbook and Kit. Organised ‘social activities’ for volunteers to meet fellow volunteers and festival artists. We also provide re-imbursement to volunteers for parking expenses incurred during festival shifts (on presentation of valid documentation).
VOLUNTEER REWARDS
The Ballarat International Foto Biennale is a rewarding experience for all volunteers and to thank you for your support of our festival we offer several rewards including the BIFB Kit (including a complimentary copy of the Core Program Catalogue 2013 RRP $20.00). Volunteers will receive invitations to festival events and other local discounts. Each volunteer will also receive a certificate of acknowledgement and appreciation and the opportunity to be nominated for BIFB’s ‘Golden Hammer Award’ for volunteer excellence.
