What Safety Looks Like

In Ballarat, rates of family and domestic violence are 12% higher than the state average. But statistics only tell part of the story. Behind every number is a person – and a story of safety.

Safety4U is a community-driven photography project that invites people to respond to the question: “What does safety mean to you?”

Through powerful images and short narratives, participants (anonymously if they wish) share personal reflections that go beyond the data. Each photo becomes a voice – a visible, tangible expression of resilience, hope, and the right to feel safe. This exhibition aims to raise awareness, spark conversation, and empower individuals to be part of a movement that says family violence is not just a women’s issue – it’s a community issue. Everyone has a role to play.

Join us in seeing safety through the eyes of those who live it.
