In Bali, Sekala (seen) and Niskala (unseen) coexist, shaping life through an eternal balance of good and evil. This tension reveals itself in sacred rituals: dancers channel deities, worshippers pray to spirits. Incense swirls, silence falls—then Rangda, the embodiment of evil, bursts forth. Possession takes hold. Some weep, others sway.
Men with sacred keris daggers strike at themselves—however unharmed. Barong, the force of good, has arrived to protect them.
This series captures the fleeting moment when the seen and unseen collide—not performance, but a lived truth.
