Resilience runs through all of us—how we confront trauma and adversity shapes not only how we live, but who we become. This body of work explores the quiet, persistent resilience that resides in us all, especially when we are pushed beyond what we believe are our limits. We are often surprised by our capacity to endure and adapt. This series reflects that understated strength.
Inspired by the adage “What does not kill me makes me stronger,” these works honour both the fragility and the force of the human spirit. Comprising eight images, the series draws on outdoor and studio photography, experimental shadow play, found objects, medical equipment, and layered post-production techniques. A dreamlike atmosphere threads through each image—muted tones, mirrored surfaces, and silhouettes create reflective portals into imagined states. Small figurines offer narrative cues, while leaving space for personal interpretation.
This series invites viewers to pause, reflect, and discover their own meanings—a meditation on resilience shaped by lived experience, yet open to universal understanding.
