Ballarat International Foto Biennale acknowledges that we are meeting, creating and working on the traditional land of the Wadawurrung and and Dja Dja Wurrung People. We recognise and respect their cultural heritage beliefs and relationship with the land. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and future.

Vote in the GradFoto 2025 People’s Choice Award

The Ballarat International Foto Biennale invites audiences across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to help select the winner of the GradFoto 2025 People’s Choice Award. Featuring 20 finalists from 10 universities, this year’s GradFoto exhibition showcases an exciting breadth of emerging photographic talent.

Launched in 2020, GradFoto celebrates outstanding graduating artists whose practice includes photography, offering early-career visibility and a platform to share their work with national and international audiences.

This year’s finalists were selected by acclaimed documentary photographer Daniella Zalcman, founder of Women Photograph. Reflecting on the submissions, Zalcman said, ‘I was blown away by the skill and storytelling capacity of this work… The projects that resonated most deeply created new emotional connections and encouraged us to think differently about the world.’

Now, it’s your turn to decide. The finalist who receives the most public votes will be awarded the AUD $500 People’s Choice Award.

Vote now and support the next generation of photographic artists. Public voting is open until midnight on Monday 2 February 2026, with the winner announced on Friday 6 February.
