It attracts competitors with their horses from the greater region of Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, Nigeria and even Guinea. Competitions include the best-dressed horse and most skilled rider. Traditional music, singing, dancing, and foreign language speeches, often interrupted by gun shots, are part of the festivities.
