With the Lomography Diana Instant and the Fuji Instax Square, this series explores the beauty in the banal and the aesthetic of the unremarkable. Crosbie carries a camera everywhere, becoming an extension of herself. Scouring locations for possibilities; rundown caravan parks, nondescript recreation reserves and suburbia. The nature of instant photography revels in the preservation of the moment and the encapsulation of time.
Tegan Crosbie is a local Ballarat artist, primarily working as a painter but also holding an interest in photography, particularly Polaroids. She is inspired by a retro aesthetic, outdoors and the inconsequential. Tegan appreciates the simplicity and vintage charm of instant cameras and the magic of photos developing before your eyes.
