The layers of a place are revealed by its artists. They retract the curtain and challenge us to see ourselves. What happens when a city embraces its artists? This is the next instalment of the story-world of ‘Luxville’, the tale of artists who challenge their city to take the risk of living up to its promise. A homage to those who take the risk of revealing their story, and to those who have never forgotten where they are from despite never being able to return.
Creating moving images of women with layers of vintage celluloid, Erin’s work falls between the borders of art and cinema. She delves into the idea that joy expressed is feminist subversion; a way to both protect our freedoms and declare our stories.
