Heritage Foto Walks will inspire you with a new outlook on capturing the places and sites around you as part of Ballarat Heritage Festival. Guided by local professional photographers Peter Kervarec and Dylan Leak, learn the art of photography while exploring the heritage architecture and streetscapes. Steeped in history, the best way to experience Ballarat is with a camera in hand.

Suitable for participants of all ages, abilities and levels of experience, Peter Kervarec and Dylan Leak will offer their photographic knowledge and insights into photography, guiding you on how best to capture the historic landmarks and stunning sites of our unique city.

Only 100km from Melbourne, Ballarat showcases some of the best gold rush architecture and heritage sites across the region. You will learn new tools and tips to capture this historic city.

Participants will meet at the National Centre For Photography and are required to bring a camera or phone. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate shoes for walking. The walks will run for approximately one and a half hours. Walks will proceed rain or shine, and only subject to extreme weather conditions and minimum booking requirements.

Dylan Leak: 21 May, 28 May – 2pm
Peter Kervarec: 22 May, 29 May – 2pm

“It wasn’t only a chance to learn about taking pictures but I also learnt from watching how Peter moved in to set up for shots and how he framed them. In anything like this you always learn something new.” – Foto Walk Participant
