Sun Prints: Exhibition visit and cyanotype workshop for Primary students.
Inspired by the exploration of analogue photography and sun printing by 2021 Biennale headline artist Linda McCartney, this program lets students see the magic of photographic image processing happen before their eyes.
Students will firstly visit the Linda McCartney: Retrospective exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ballarat to discover how our Linda McCartney used light through all different kinds of analogue photography processes to capture what was happening around her in creative and inventive ways. Following this, students will experiment with creating their own simple photographic images, using the sun, special cyanotype paper and silhouettes inspired by the exhibition’s themes. Students will not only make these magical images themselves but also take them home as a souvenir.
