Linda McCartney: Retrospective Online Program

Linda McCartney: Retrospective Online provides simple and flexible lessons for primary and secondary students to learn about, and practice, photography.

Linda McCartney: Retrospective Online brings the exhibition to life for students. This program includes four ready-made lessons of 10-minute instructional videos, where students will look at and respond to photographs by Linda McCartney and a corresponding photography task that they will complete for the remainder of the lesson.

Through Linda McCartney’s photographs, students will learn about photographic processes and techniques, the social and cultural context of art making, and the way artists construct images to express ideas, values and beliefs. The practical tasks involve a combination of experimenting with techniques, planning artworks, taking photographs and editing photographic series. Themes explored in Linda’s work include portraiture, family, nature, the sixties, self-portraiture and activism.

All students need for these programs is a computer and any kind of photographic device, such as a camera, smart phone or tablet. Linda McCartney: Retrospective Online allows students to get creative, have fun, practice photography and learn about this influential artist’s work.
